Task 2-Application of Research

2 a) Produce a brief to turn your website design ideas into a tangible product.

·      
      1) You should have a colour storyboard – A plan showing what you would like your site to look like (colours       
position of logos etc) this should be based on your research from task 1.

·    2) The name of your website/business: check online here to make sure your name is available so you are not infringing on another businesses copyright!

·    3) A written checklist- all the design features you’d like (this is to double check the storyboard)

2 b) Produce a business plan for an online shop/marketing forum using the template provided. 

  Your business plan needs the following sections and contents

   1) Summary
       A short paragraph giving an overview of each section. Leave this until the end. 


   2) Business overview
       Introduction 
       Competitive advantage : Explain what you think your competitive advantage/s are they might well be lower costs for example. Explain why too.


   3) Marketing

        SWOT : Strengths, Weaknesses Opportunities and Threats. These are all internal (Within the organisation) or External (Outside your organisation)

        critical success factors

        Market research

   4) Team and management structure                                                                                                        

Your Skills, experience, training and retention, Advisors and Management systems                                                                                                                             

   5) Financial budgets and forecasts

       Profit and loss forecast

      
       Cash flow forecast

       Break-even analysis

Task 2 c) Individually create a job description and person specification for a role in your team.

·       You are going to have the opportunity to add someone to your project.

·       You need to think what skills and abilities you would like the new member of your group to have.

·       In order to do this you need to

1.          Create an advert with the job description (Make it eye catching but honest!)  

2.         Create a person specification for the people applying for the job to meet.
       (This is a written set of criteria with essential and desirable skills and qualities that a candidate should have)

·       You should research the format and content of these from real job descriptions and person specifications in order to help you create yours.

·       I suggest you use both the Internet and jobs sections of newspapers as research sources.

Task 2 d)  Participate in a Job interview

You need to prepare for a job interview that will be held on the Monday 15th of April.
